Paranapanema starts exports to India

Sales to the Asian country totaled R$ 2.5 million in copper wires and rods

(04/07/2016) Paranapanema, the largest copper’s producer in Brazil, did its first shipment of products to India last month. Sales to the Asian country totaled R$ 2.5 million in copper wires and rods and are part of the company to develop new international markets strategy. The first volume, called “test shipment” is intended to check the compliance of Paranapanema’s product specifications to the Indian market. In addition to this, which is a new destination, the company has stepped up exports to regions such as Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

Since last year, due to the slowdown of the Brazilian market, Paranapanema has been working to increase volumes in the international market. In 2015, 58% of net revenue of R$ 5.4 billion the company originated in exports. For this year, the forecast is that the external market keep a level higher than 60% of company revenues.
