PARANAPANEMA REGISTERS 2ND CATHODE MARK IN LME

(02/23/2015) Paranapanema, Brazil’s major copper producer, was given on February 22nd, 2015, the certification of one more cathode brand in the London Metal Exchange (LME). The register accredits in the exchange (CbM-P) the copper produced using permanent cathode technology.

The approval by LME allows the brand to have better international market penetration. The cathodes can be delivered in warehouses accredited by the exchange of metals, facilitating trading and funding operations and therefore providing greater liquidity to the products. Paranapanema had already had the LME certification for the CbM brand. The new certification, which covers about 50% of the production of Dias D’Ávila, is part of the company’s efforts to expand its operating markets and increase the use of its industrial capacity.
