Company is the main copper’s supplier to the South American neighbor

(01/22/2016) Paranapanema, Brazil’s largest copper producer, participates of article about Argentina in IstoÉ Dinnheiro magazine last week, bringing an analysis of the new Argentine president’s arrival, Mauricio Macri, to power. In an interview to the publication, Paranapanema’s CEO, Christophe Malik Akli, believes that the positive sentiment generated in Argentina could influence new business with the country.

Today, the South American country is the second largest international market of Paranapanema, after China. In the year 2015 it was exported 25,000 tons of products to Argentina, which has the Paranapanema as a major copper’s supplier.

With the Brazilian’s market downturn, the successful strategy adopted by Paranapanema last year was to focus on foreign markets. In 2015, nearly 60% of all copper produced by the company was exported.
