Text talks about the change in copper buying model in the domestic market
(01/15/2016) On Friday, January 15, Paranapanema was featured in the Folha de São Paulo’s newspaper. The article mentioned the change in copper’s purchase in Brazil. Prior to the slowdown in the domestic market, transactions used to happen once a year, with quantities and prices determinated with long-term contracts.
Christophe Akli, Paranapanema’s CEO, gave an interview to the newspaper and commented about the strategy’s change of copper’s purchase, which nowadays are monthly negotiations: “Since the end of 2015, customers only accept to buy small volumes that not worth to make long-term contract.”
The unpredictability of how the economy will behave throughout the year 2016 is the main reason for sales have become smaller, but more frequently.
